Equal Opportunity...

So, I was job hunting online and I came across this in a job description at a university:

This person should be supportive of theology in the Wesleyan-Arminian tradition. IWU is an equal opportunity employer that seeks a diverse workforce of committed evangelical Christians from all racial and ethnic backgrounds.

I really hope IWU isn't accepting public funds.

I had a colleague ask me a couple weeks ago if I had applied for a job at the local Catholic university... and he wondered why I said that I hadn't.

Now, if you're getting hired to teach, say, mathematics, what exactly does your religion have to do with your subject? I mean, are one's views of theology a legitimate concern of one's employers?
