Why is this article funny?

I'll give you a hint. It has nothing to do with the main topic, which is about some fool college student threatening to kill people in a shooting spree on his campus. Rather, it's the last line about the guy from Australia.

Jarrad Willis, 20, of Melbourne, was arrested after Los Angeles police detectives traced to Australia the address of his Internet provider. Willis has been charged in Australia with creating a false belief -- a violation of Australian law.

Notice the bolded sentence... creating a false belief is a crime. And there are still religions in Australia?
