diversity, huh?

Professional responsibilities include teaching 24 credit hours per academic year, involvement in Divisional planning and operations, appropriate University committee duties and other general service to the University. XXXXX University, a Catholic liberal arts institution located in XXXXXXXXXXXX, Ohio, is dedicated to academic excellence in student-centered educational model within a Judeo-Christian tradition.

Send letter of application, CV, graduate transcripts and list of three references (at least one addressing teaching ability) to: XXXXX XXXXXXXX, Director of Human Resources, XXXXX University, XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXXXXX, OH XXXXXXXXXXX. XXXXX University values a diverse community and is committed to equality in employment. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

I came across this ad in a job application. I've worked at a Catholic university before, but on the other hand, why would I want to apply to a school that talked about teaching within an educational model within a Judeo-Christian tradition? Seriously?

And before anyone asks, the job isn't for a theology position. It's for a computer science/math position.

What do you think they'd say about an atheist minority applying for this job? D'you think I could get me some affirmative action going? ;-P

Five or six years ago, I just don't remember job apps saying this kind of thing. At least not at universities.
