My mother told me something completely absurd today, and the thing that gets me is that I don't think most people realize just how absurd it is.

I was talking to her about my aunt with cancer eshewing chemotherapy for some quackery involving juice. I was expressing some concern that she was skipping out on the medically tested, reliable therapy (as awful as it was) for nonsense.

Mom's response?

She's doing everything she's told and really embracing it... she's even worn out a couple juicers!

What the hell difference does that make? Quackery doesn't become "real" medicine because you follow all the fake rules.
